NCHH&H Hospice Volunteer Core

For many, a serious illness makes it hard to get necessary things done. Volunteering in hospice is a special gift of unselfish service to people in need and to the community. The Hospice Volunteers at Nemaha County Home Health & Hospice help patients with simple tasks such as:

Being a friend/companion for a patient. Talking with a patient and listening to their stories.
Shopping for groceries
Preparing a light meal and feeding the patient
Helping patients with daily tasks such as brushing hair
Helping with light housekeeping or yard work
Read a book/newspaper
Help patients write letters to family

To learn more about becoming a Hospice Volunteer or for more information about training, contact Debby Thompson, Volunteer Coordinator at (785) 284-2121 Ext. #1527 or email
