Education:
Dr. Jimenez earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He returned to Kansas in 2022 to practice rural surgery and has a particular interest in ensuring that patients in rural communities have access to high-quality surgical and trauma care close to home.Biography:
Denis Jimenez, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon at Sabetha Community Hospital. He provides a broad range of general surgical, endoscopic, and emergency surgical care to patients throughout northeast Kansas. Dr. Jimenez is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a distinction reflecting his commitment to high standards of surgical care, professionalism, and ethics.More/Other Information:
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Jimenez is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and is active in trauma education and system development throughout Kansas. He serves on the Northeast Kansas Regional Trauma Council Executive Committee and the Kansas Advisory Committee on Trauma. He is also a Major in the Kansas Army National Guard and has served as a military surgeon on deployments to Kuwait and Iraq.Outside of medicine, Dr. Jimenez lives with his wife and four sons on their small farm near Holton. He enjoys spending time with his family, fitness and the outdoors, music, and performing in local community theater.
